Bayview Angling Centre is about 500 metres from Salthouse Bay on Lough Corrib, 3 km from Cong, Co. Mayo, Ireland. Mike and Rose Holian have been welcoming anglers and guests since 1988.
The bedrooms at Bayview are all en-suite, and there is also a spacious guest sitting room where you can relax with a book or watch T.V. Guests have remarked on how quiet and peaceful it is near the Bay and how nice it is to wake to the sound of birds singing. Breakfast is cooked at a time that suits you between 8 to 10 AM. Lunch boxes may be prepared for the fishing if required.
Bayview offers brown trout, salmon and pike fishing, with boats moored on Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. Mike is available to offer advise on fly fishing and has a good selection of flies. If you prefer spinning and trolling, Mike will show you the best areas to fish for trout, salmon and pike. He has a good stock of spoons and rapalas, and also dead bait if fishing for pike. Freezing facilities available and life jackets supplied. Discounts available for large parties or groups.
Other activities in the area include golf, bicycle hire, horseback riding and Corrib cruises, and Mt. Gable in Clonbur is easily accessible. There are many caves and places of interest in the Cong area, as well as a golf course in Cross (2km). You may like to visit Inchagoill Island in the middle of Lough Corrib by boat and motor (approx. half hour journey) where St. Patrick had a monastery, or enjoy the sandy beach on the Eastern side of the island. Or you could also take a boat and motor from Lisloughery harbour, near Ashford Castle and visit the Chalet (a five minute trip) where you can swim or have a picnic on one of Corrib’s islands.
Aside from the main Lodge, Bayview offers a selection of self-catering Holiday Homes which can be viewed by clicking here.
